Vijayta wanted a design for her Indian-themed birthday party that would be both feminine and representative of her culture. The ‘rani pink’ and gold colors used in the design are symbolic of Indian royalty. These colors are customarily used in clothing made for wealthy Indian women. The illustrations are representative of Mehndi art, the Indian custom of applying henna designs to the hands and feet of women to bring good luck.
